Munambam Beach, Ernakulam, Kerala


Munambam beach is the place where the River Periyar flows into the Arabian Sea. Situated at the northern end (5 kms) of Cherai Beach.To protect the harbor mouth, two ramparts are constructed into the sea to about half kilometer using granite stones and concrete blocks.


To reach munambam beach - The Cochin International Airport is located 20 kms away. The nearest railway station is at Aluva, situated about 22 km away. The beach is around 30km from the Kochi city.


From Ernakulam city - Marine Drive & through the Goshree bridges - Vypeen island – Cherai beach – Munambam beach.

Neat and well maintained beach. We reached there by 10.30 morning. This is the entrance of the beach.

Like Fort cochin Beach, Chinese Fishing nets are one of the most beautiful attractions of this beach.

We will get fresh fish from here. But the cost seems to be high.
No one was there to disturb our freedom. It was very calm and quiet.


It is one of the few places where we can see dolphins.

We returned from there by 1 o'clock and the kids were very hungry. Fortunately we found this place. The entrance fee is Rs.100/- per head. We will get homely food from here. Boating, fishing facilities are also available. We decided to have food from here.

This was the food we got. Rice, Fish fry, Achinga Thoran, Fish curry, pickle and Prawn Fry (paid extra cash). Crab fry was also available there but we have to pay extra for that. Got one cup of ice cream along with this food. It was delicious and very spicy.

After having food, we went for fishing. We liked this place very much. There was a narrow sandy way surrounded by water both sides.
Small sheds and seats are available to sit and watch the beauty of this place.

We really enjoyed fishing.

Got two fishes.


We left this place by 6 o'clock. Gave more importance for fishing and didn't get time for boating. Good place for one day trip. Very calm and quiet place without any disturbance.
Realised..... my Kerala is very beautiful.

Kerala is wonderful place for the tourist that you can visit during your honeymoon with your lovely partner. The place is giving you an exciting time spend with the nature and environment.

Valparai

Valparai is the place where we (me, my sister and brother) used to go during our summer vacations when we were young school going kids; because our dad and mom was in Valparai. My dad was working in a tea estate which comes under BBTC and mom was a high school teacher. Because of the lack of good schools in Valparai; we were forced to stay along with our grandmother and completed our studies in Kochi, Kerala. Thiruvanchikulam Maha Deva Temple - A pilgrim travelogue

We had a discussion about Indian culture , traditions and temples during the leisure time. One of my colleagues told us about the temple Thiruvanchikulam and stories behind this temple. It was really interesting. I searched in Google to find more about this temple and i got a chance to visit this temple.  This temple lies at Methala village, south of Kodungalloor in Thrissur district, Kerala . It is one of the rare temples in Kerala , which retains its ancient Tamil flavor and connections. The outline map of the construction of the temple which was built in the 9 th century.
