The Wild Beauty of Whatipu Beach - Exploring Auckland Beaches.
Whatipu beach is one of the west coast beaches of Auckland, New Zealand, which is managed by Auckland Council. Very beautiful beach and a good destination for a one day picnic. Approximately 1hr drive from Auckland City. We started, from our place, at 12.30pm and it took 55 minutes to reach there. The drive was good, no heavy traffic and the weather was good too. On the way to Whatipu beach, there are small beaches, parks and fishing points. We stopped there, took some photos, enjoyed the beauty of the seashore and started our journey to the beach. We have to drive through an unsealed narrow and curvy road around 20 to 25 minutes to reach the beach. Make sure that you drive slowly and carefully. It was not crowded on that day. There were enough parking spaces. Toilet facility is also available there. Camping facility is available, but we need to get the permit to camp there.
